Covid-19 Travel Restrictions
Like any successful travels, the first step is successful planning. Unfortunately, navigating a road trip during Covid-19 makes “successful planning” that much more intimidating. Happy Campers RV Rentals is here to help guide you through that hesitation so you and your loved ones can have a safe, smart, and sublime beach vacation!
The state of Oregon is currently following a framework that assesses Covid restrictions on a case-by-case basis depending on the number of Covid-19 cases in each individual county. As it currently stands, Newport and Lincoln Country are rated as “High Risk.”
Travelers should anticipate:
- Indoor dining allowed, but capacity limited to 25%. Takeout orders are encouraged.
- Hiking and camping activities are open and allowed.
- Indoor and outdoor shopping centers & malls open, but capacity limited to 50%. Curbside pickup encouraged.
- Grocery stores, convenience stores, and pharmacies allowed, but capacity limited to 75%.
- Indoor social gatherings limited to 6 people
- Outdoor social gatherings limited to 8 people
- All outdoor Newport parks are currently open
- All Newport beaches are currently open
As has been the case in previous months, travelers should anticipate wearing a mask or some kind of face-covering when entering any indoor public or business establishment. Businesses reserve the right to withhold services if the proper face coverings are not utilized at the proper times, (i.e. walking to and from your table in a restaurant.)
With a plethora of gorgeous beaches, sunny parks, and endless hiking trails, Newport is a hotspot for safely practiced outdoor activities. With a full understanding of the risk level and the associated restrictions for your destination, you’re well on your way to a safely practiced spring break!

5 Things To Do In Newport
1. Newport’s Historic Bayfront
It wouldn’t truly be a trip to Newport without visiting Newport’s Historic Bayfront, the very heart and soul of this seaside city. Stroll along Newport’s Bay Boulevard fro prime-time window shopping as you pass by local shops, galleries, and a plethora of delicious restaurants. You can even attend a glass blowing class at Oregon Coast Glassworks and bring a custom piece of Newport home with you!
Hidden Gem:

Grab a table on the patio for a stunning view of the bay while you rest your feed and indulge in this American/ seafood style eatery. What could be more rejuvenating than the smell of the ocean breeze and the sound of sea lions lounging beside you on the docks? Clearwater Restaurant is up to date with all approved Covid-19 regulations, with available hand sanitizer stations and socially distanced tables, so you and your loved ones can enjoy your dining experience worry free (except for what you will order from their extensive menu options)!
