Safety is the number one priority when camping or hiking. When you are out camping you don’t always have the space to pack a first aid kit. Use this hack to take a portable first aid kit with you when hiking, backpacking, or camping.
You will need:
- 1 empty Altoid container
- Travel size meds:
- Pain reliever
- Antacid
- Antiseptic wipes
- Antibiotic ointment
- Bandages
- Any other travel medications you may use
Step 1: Empty Altoids Container

Take out all of the Altoids from the container. If you have done this or had an empty Altoid container move on to step 2.
Step 2: Clean Out the Container

Altoids are great for helping with bad breath. However, they leave behind a dusty residue. Clean out the container with a rag or water. Make sure the container is dry after washing it.
Step 3: Gather Your Medical Supplies

Gather all of your medical supplies you think you may need. Do not gather too much or it may not fit in the container. We kept it to the bare essentials like bandages, wipes, and common medications.
Step 4: Fill Up the Container

Fill the container up with your medical supplies. Make sure you have a good amount, but enough to close the container.
Step 5: Pack It & Use It!

Toss the container in your gear or backpack. Use it whenever you need to.
